"KELSEY" is one of the most complete Triceratops skeletons ever collected. The completeness of the rib cage transformed our ideas about what the animal looked like and even how it moved. KELSEY's size truly impresses upon the observer, what a formidable opponent Triceratops may have been for T. rex.
Discovered by Leonard and Arlene Zerbst. From the original Lance formation "type area," where most of the original 30 odd skulls of Triceratops were collected in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Collected by BHI and the Zerbst family in 1998. KELSEY was prepared, molded, and mounted by BHI for the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, where it went on exhibit June, 2004 (specimen # TCM 2001.93.1).
KELSEY's body cavity is even wider than it is long! Complete skull, neck, body, and pelvis, with nearly complete rear legs. Shoulder girdles, front limbs, feet and tail were cast from other Triceratops specimens.
We suggest a running pose, but any physiologically possible pose can be designed to suit your exhibition needs
