Brachiosaurus was one of the largest animals to ever walk the earth. It had a relatively short tail for a sauropod, with a very long neck and long front legs giving it a very ‘giraffe like’ stance. This giant sauropod lived during the Jurassic Period, about 150 MYA. A full grown Brachiosaurus would have been over 80 feet long (24 m) and weighed about 50 tons (45 tonnes).
This Brachiosaurus femur was collected at the Waugh Quarry. Other dinosaur material from this quarry includes Camarasaurus, Barosaurus, Allosaurus, Torvosaurus, Ornitholestes and Stegosaurus.
Your visitors will be amazed and inspired by the sheer size of this great giant from the past.
