The terminal phalange on each toe is an ungual, a spade-shaped bone, which probably would have had a keratin sheath. This ungual replica is probably from a large adult full-grown male.
Our pes ungual is an excellent educational piece. Create your own educator's touch collection by adding a Tyrannosaurus rex STAN pes claw, Struthiomimus hand or pes claw, Triceratops ungual, Chirostenotes claw, and a Tyrannosaurus rex hand claw for comparison!
